Araku Coffee la plus grande plantation de café en biodynamie au monde

What is biodynamics?

Araku today represents the largest biodynamic coffee plantation in the world.

BIODYNAMICS: AGRICULTURE BASED ON RESPECT FOR NATURE

Although not widespread, biodynamic cultivation nevertheless has many advantages. If we had to give a definition of biodynamics, we would say that it is an agricultural technique aimed at guaranteeing the health of the soil and plants, with the aim of producing healthy food. Based on the principle that nature is currently degraded because of man, this technique tends to better understand nature and ensure its sustainability. This is why biodynamics is in complete opposition to current production methods. Although no standard method has actually been defined, biodynamic agriculture notably uses compost of plant or animal origin which has been produced locally. This allows us to use less water and make the soil and plants richer. Contrary to what one might believe, this technique is far from new. We owe its principle to Rudolf Steiner, a philosopher who gave a series of conferences on this subject in 1924. Presenting many points in common with organic farming, biodynamics differs mainly by its consideration of planetary rhythms and lunar.

BIODYNAMICS, A PRODUCTION THAT ENHANCES THE PRODUCT

Respecting nature and living things in a sustainable way is not the only objective of biodynamics. This agriculture also aims to produce better quality food and products. It is not without reason that many producers now swear by this type of agriculture, like certain wine growers. Please note that Araku Coffee has also chosen biodynamic agriculture. In the Araku Valley, the land was undergoing changes inflicted by man.

Adopting biodynamics has not only allowed the company to offer exceptional coffee, but also given local residents the opportunity to be in harmony with nature again. Would you like to know more about the virtues of biodynamic cultivation? The simplest thing is still to serve you a good coffee produced and selected by Araku. After that, you will inevitably be convinced by the good sense of this approach.
