Coffee shop, Bangalore
Araku's first coffee shop in India, it was designed as an oasis of tranquility that combines specialty coffee and gastronomy. This two-story restaurant is home to India's first Modbar and the first training campus certified by the Specialty Coffee Association. It has its own roastery and small specificity, a bookstore offering works selected from all over the world.
First modbar in India
The modbar by Marzocco breaks down the barriers between baristas and customers. It offers all the benefits of a traditional La Marzocco coffee machine, with a sleek design that hides the machinery. It is renowned for improving the customer experience as they are not bothered by traditional coffee units occupying their field of vision when being served by the barista.
In order to always serve the best organic specialty coffee, the beans are roasted on site. Freshly roasted coffee is used in the cafe or sold and shipped for customers to enjoy at home. The design of the roasting section also allows customers to understand the roasting process.
World Specialty Coffee Academy
The second level of the coffee shop also houses the Araku World Specialty Coffee Academy, India's first SCA-certified specialty coffee academy. The aim of the Araku World Specialty Coffee Academy is to create an international training network for coffee professionals from around the world to have access to SCA training in Bangalore.
Araku's culinary philosophy reflects the brand's ethos. We only work with organic and local products from the Araku Valley or our urban farm a few kilometers away. We strive to reduce our waste as much as possible by cooking each product in its entirety. And wise advice from French people who have traveled to Bangalore, it's the best restaurant in the city!
The coffee shop was designed by Shonan Purie Trehan and New York architect Jorge Zapata. It is designed as an oasis of tranquility. The minimalist and understated design language is a gentle backdrop to uphold our vision of a quality food and caffeinated culture. A fully sustainable vision comes to life through equipment and
materials sourced only from local businesses.
