Inspired by the Japanese folding method to better control the infusion process, the origami dripper is made of a series of 20 folds allowing you to extract all the richness and complexity of your specialty coffee. Made from porcelain by hand in Japan, it is with this method that Jian Ning Du won the Brewers Cup World Championships in 2019.

Slow Coffee preparation with the Origami filter holder

For 3 cups of slow coffee with your Origami dripper, you will need 20g of medium ground specialty coffee, 300ml of water, a kettle and 3 minutes in front of you.

Start as with any gentle method preparation by moistening your filter then placing your ground coffee in it. Your water must be heated between 88 and 90°C. It's time for the pre-infusion, pour 60ml of water, making sure to wet all the grounds well. Let 45 seconds pass and pour 150g of water in a circular manner (without touching the edges of the filter). Finally, once all the water has drained, make a final pour with the rest of the water. Remove the Origami filter holder and swirl your coffee in the carafe to homogenize everything.

FAQs

It is essential to choose filters with the same folds as the Origami dripper. This is why we offer you on our website a pack of 100 Origami filters size M with conical bottom. This type of background helps bring out more of the acidity present in your coffee.

Preparations with the Origami filter holder produce more balanced and sweeter specialty coffees. Preparing in V60 due to the shape of the dripper tends to accentuate the fruity and acidic side of the coffee.
