Recommended preparation methods:

The Saradabonduguda Microlot is a vibrant and refined specialty coffee, with a floral and complex cup, and notes of hibiscus, black tea, and fresh apricot.

This organic coffee, produced in limited quantities, is entirely hand-picked between November and January on the heights of the Araku natural reserve, in the village of Saradabonduguda in India. Grown at an altitude of 1008 meters by Korra Veeranna, it benefits from a washed process that reveals all the purity and elegance of its aromatic profile. Its delicate vibrancy, carried by a beautiful length in the mouth, makes it a highly precise microlot, certified as specialty coffee by the SCA with a cupping score of 87.

Its light roast has been designed to enhance filter methods and reveal all the finesse of its aromas.

Korra Veeranna fermier producteur de café de spécialité dans la vallée d'Araku

Veeranna family, Saradabonduguda village

In the village of Saradabonduguda, Korra Veeranna cultivates his coffee with the patience and precision of those who have learned to listen to the earth. At 45 years old, this farmer is part of a new generation of growers in the Araku Valley: a generation that chooses to prioritize quality, time, and respect for living things over the pursuit of immediate yield.

On his small 0.8-hectare plot nestled in the highlands, each cherry is harvested with care. Since joining the Araku program in 2022, Veeranna has transformed his coffee cultivation methods. Previously, all cherries were picked together, without distinction. Today, only the ripest ones, those with a vibrant red hue, are hand-selected, while the others continue to ripen naturally under the canopy.

Un microlot de café de spécialité est un café qui présente des caractéristiques uniques et hors du commun pour un café bio

What is a specialty coffee microlot?

The Araku valley is organized around a cooperative bringing together thousands of farmers. Each farming family has one or more plots on which their coffee trees grow. During the harvest, all the coffee plots (or lots) are tasted separately by a group of experts. In order to classify and assemble the different batches. Plots with similar characteristics are grouped into terroirs. And the best lots, those with unique and exceptional characteristics are distinguished as Microlot.

FAQs

The washed process is a coffee processing method that involves removing the pulp from the cherries immediately after harvest, before washing and drying the beans. This technique precisely reveals the natural characteristics of the coffee and its terroir. Washed coffees generally offer a brighter, cleaner, and more elegant cup, with beautiful aromatic clarity and refined acidity.

Our Saradabonduguda microlot is limited to 150 bags of 200g specialty coffee beans.

The notion of specialty coffee corresponds to a quality certification awarded to the best Arabica coffees in the world and awarded by the Specialty Coffee Association. To be identified as such, the coffees are tasted and rated by “cuppers” (certified SCA experts). If the total score is greater than 80/100 then the coffee can claim the name of specialty coffee. All Araku coffees are specialty coffees and all have at least a tasting score above 86.
